Conflict Resolution Program
The Conflict Resolution Center was initially conceived as a community project in 1997, under the auspice of the YMCA. I was hired to develop and implement programs to serve the needs of Las Animas County, nearby Counties & Trinidad. This Center inter worked with the 3rd Judicial District and every community agency available in the area, as joint referral sources. In July 2002 when the Colorado State Grant ended, I continued the program with a slight name change to, Conflict Resolution Services. I integrated it into my Private Practice in Trinidad, and kept many of the services with the same low cost.
The primary service is Life Guidance. I help families, individuals and youth with stressful daily life issues through cognitive teaching and techniques. Most individuals or families have common problems, usually they let them go thinking they will go away; they don’t instead they get worse and very disruptive to their lives. I assist people with problems from: getting homework done, to how to deal with your mother-in-law or your boss at work. Many issues involve better communication, handling anger issues and gathering parenting skills, none of which are taught adequately, in our lives. We either do the same as those who raised us, or we do the opposite, there is a vast amount of other ways to handle situations in between. I also offer specific personal Anger Management or Parent Coaching Programs for those who would like more control over themselves, thus creating more tranquility in their life. Both programs receive a Certificate of Completion.
